The trolley car has been part of Fort Collins' history since 1907, when the original street railway was built. The trolley's starting point is the Trolley Depot in City Park, and stops are made at Shields, Loomis and Howes streets where they intersect with Mountain Avenue. Travelers can board the trolley at any of these stops, and seniors enjoy discounted fare.

The 1879 Avery House lets visitors step back in time and experience life in the 1800s through meticulously preserved clothing, furniture and household goods. Visitors can also book Water Works Tours, which are scheduled once a month during certain months.

If you're an active senior with a penchant for easy trails through Colorado's epic scenery, add the Poudre Trail to your excursion list. The majority of the trail takes place on asphalt and cement, which provides easy footing with gradual inclines and declines. Expect to see some of Fort Collins' wildlife along the 21-mile route, which stretches from Bellvue to Bucking Horse.
